Empire Style Marble Pedestal

This large and very striking object is wonderfully rare. Constructed from very well chosen Portor marble and mounted with fine quality cast and gilded bronzes, This pedestal is free-standing, being similarly decorated on all four sides. The ends have typical Empire type “Egyptian” caryatids, busts and feet of ormolu and elongated honeysuckle motifs while the sides are decorated with antimion leaves, laurel wreaths and classical mouldings. The top turns on a pivot and the whole stands on elegant curled feet.
Pair of Antique French Style Marble Top Side Tables
Pair of antique French style marble top side tables in great condition & dating to around the 1950’s period. They are kidney shaped, with gilt metal galleries, mounts, handles & feet. These tables are beautifully decorated all over & have colourful scenes on the drawer fronts. I believe the woods involved are walnut, mahogany, kingwood & other inlays. They look good from all angles & are finished on the backs. The bottom shelves are kidney shaped too & help keep the tables more stable.

This Large impressive hall stand has to be the nicest ones I’ve ever seen. It’s antique early Victorian, possible William IV, dating from the 1840-50’s period & is in excellent condition. This piece is also very functional & would be very practicable in a hall. There are plenty of pegs for hanging coats, hats, etc., plus a glove or key compartment & umbrella or stick holders. There is abundant carving all over on the top & the branches. The base section has barley twist ends & strong cabriole carved legs. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the fine details.
