A Folk Art Mirror made by a British or American Sailor between 1790 and 1840. Carved from 2 different woods and with wing motifs, even the back of the frame has been carefully shaped.
Old repair to the pediment top visible on back . A primitive piece of sailorwork from an age of sail !
Measures 21 inches wide. In reasonable condition, missing a wing-tip.

This item is a one-off work created some years ago by a Scottish artist and is presently hanging in the conservatory of my London flat.
The Mirror measures 28 inches tall x 21 wide.

A good sized English 19th century gilt wood convex mirror with its original lightly foxed convex mirror plate some minor distressing to the gilded spheres on the inner rim and light chips here and there to the gilding but in lovely untouched original condition.
