ROBIN DAY LINEAR ‘FORM’ SOFA FOR HILLE -1950s
Robin Day is one of the most significant British designers of the 20th century. Since winning first prize in the Storage Section of the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design (organised by MoMA in 1948), Day built a legacy of innovation and forward focused design.
This iconic sofa was designed for high end furniture producer Hille in 1960. Its innovative design won a Design Centre Award in 1961. The modular suite comprises of 2 metal frames, 5 seated sections, 3 of which have backs and a Formica table. The whole set is interchangeable and can be configured to suit your personal needs.
The suite has new foam cushions and new upholstery, finished in a pale blue / grey felted pure wool.
