Description
Stunning Asprey Jewellery Box housed inside a brown leather case with buckled straps. The Asprey Jewellery box is veneered in exotic coromandel and features brass edging, stringing and escutcheons. With an elaborate monogram on the top. Opening the box shows a purple velvet lined interior with various compartments. The front of the box folds down to reveal a brass clock and barometer, stamped “Asprey 166 Bond Street”, along with a silver gilt perfume bottle. The top compartments swing out to each side to reveal further storage compartments underneath. These lower compartments can also swing out to allow access to yet further compartments. Located along the back edge of these secondary open compartments there are brass buttons which when pressed open spring loaded hidden drawers. At the base of the fully opened box there is a leather lined compartment with two velvet lined drawers beneath an ornate brass decoration. Housed inside the lid of this fabulous box is a gilt brass framed removable mirror and two unfolding, adjustable candle sconces. Beneath the mirror is a makers plaque which reads: Charles Asprey & Son. 166 Bond street LONDON This rare and fabulous Asprey jewellery comes with a fully working Bramah lock and tasselled key.
