A lovely example of rural folk art where such horses would be seen on a daily basis. Mounted in a fruit wood frame with gold slip. Artist note: In 1901 Fred was ‘a grazier’ living at Woolsthorpe Street, Grantham and by 1911 he was described as an animal painter. He lived until 81 years of age and never married. He was an itinerant painter of prize livestock in and around Lincoln and Grantham and there is a painting of a stallion in the Suffolk Punch Heavy Horse Museum. Dimensions include the frame.

‘Captain’ Prize Racing Pigeon, Oil on Board, dated 1924, J Browne
Circa Date : 1850
Size 43 cm H x 57 cm W
‘Captain’ Prize Racing Pigeon, oil on board, dated 1924, J Browne Painted in 1924, this prize winning bird continued to win races until 1926, and these exploits were duly noted later at the bottom of the painting. J Browne is a noted painter of racing pigeons of this period, and this painting is typical of his output. The pigeon stands against a plain background, relying on his intelligent profile and iridescent neck and chest feathers to make an impact. Pigeon racing in the British Isles was a very popular pastime in the early 20th century. Paintings like this were given as prizes to/or commissioned by owners of racing birds right up to the Second World War. In a painted frame with gold slip. Dimensions include the frame
002-Art Deco Mirror Clockby Clock Props
002-Art Deco Mirror Clock
A fabulous example of an English Art Deco mirror clock, the sort of piece you would have seen in the cocktail bar of a posh west end hotel.
The peach glass surround highlights the oblong mirror and the clock is mounted centrally on the top.
Originally the clock would have been mains powered but we have adapted the original art deco chrome hands to fit a modern quartz movement so it is fully functional. We have never had another clock like it before so in the right seting this will make a real centre piece.
It has been hard to photograph to best effect because the mirror reflects what was in the foreground when we photographed it. e.g the opposite white wall and floor

017-Smiths 1930s Sunburst Clock
The sunburst motif was a very popular shape in the art deco period for mirrors and clocks. This clock was made by the English firm Smiths and we have adapted the decorative hands to fit a modern quartz mechanism for perfect time keeping. The Arabic dial is protected by a convex glass.
Size: 33 cm x 33 cm
035-Industrial Clockby Clock Props
This is a fabulous good sized factory clock from the late 1960's or early 1970's.
We have converted it from electric to quartz retaining of course the classic baton hands.
The aluminium rim adds that contemporary touch for modern décor.
Size: 43 cm Diameter x 7 cm Deep
042-Double Sided Lambert Clockby Clock Props
042-Double Sided Lambert Clock
A compact metal cased hanging double-sided clock by the French clockmaking firm “Lambert”.
They specialised in office and industrial clocks with Mains power and we have converted this by fitting modern quartz movements to the original hands on both sides.
Size: 25 cm Diameter x 15 cm deep
069-English Clock Tower Dialby Clock Props
069-English Clock Tower Dial
Typical of many Victorian and Edwardian town hall clock dials.
The heavy cast iron frame has Roman numerals on a white background incased in a black metal rim.
The hands are highly decorative and we have been able to adapt them to work with a heavy duty quartz mechanism for perfect time keeping instead of just being a decorative object.
This type of clock rarely pops up nowadays which gives it an added attraction.
Size: 82cm x 12cm
075-19th Century French Wall Clockby Clock Props
075-19th Century French Wall Clock
This shabby-chic wall clock used to have an unreliable, mechanical movement which we've replaced with a modern quartz, but retained all the antique features of the hands, dial and wooden case. We have painted the outer rim in a distressed red to give it a fresh appeal.
Size: 37 cm diameter x 13 cm deep
122-Early 19th Century Longcase Clockby Clock Props
122-Early 19th Century Longcase Clock
The clock has a tall slimly elegant pine case which we have painted in a distressed pale blue to highlight the colours of the dial and to give it a more up to date feel. Pine case clocks were originally painted or grained to make them look more valuable so our modern day rendering in pale blue is nothing new.
The previous one we had and painted was featured in the Financial Times in February which is an indication of its appeal.
The clock dates from around 1795 and the dial is signed 'Foxton, Sutton' a listed maker in 'G.H.Baillie's Watch & Clockmakers of the World'. Sutton-in-Ashfield is a town 13 miles North West of Nottingham. The clock has a 30 hour weight driven movement striking hourly on a bell.
The clock is in full working order.
