Pair of Art Deco Steel , Copper and Glass Wall Sconce Lampsby InteriorBoutiques
A very large, stunning and extremely unusual pair of original Art Deco Neoclassical wall sconce lamps. These were made in England & I would date them from around the 1920-1930’s period.
They have a fabulous design, and are extremely impressive. They would look amazing either side of a doorway to the entrance of a building or hallway, as well as various other places around the home. We have never come across a design quite like this!
The frames are beautifully made from a combination of steel and copper, they have a gorgeous patina. The shades are tear drop shaped and are made of iridescent glass.
These are wired but need to be checked and tested on installation to meet your buildings requirements. They are completely intact and free from damage, with only some extremely minor surface wear.

Pair of Space Age Fibreglass Pod Chairsby InteriorBoutiques
An extremely rare and unusual pair of space age vintage pod chairs. They were made in England, they date from the 1960’s.
The design is so stylish and they are extremely well made. Each chair has a fibreglass shell, one is black and one is white. They sit loosely on circular wooden bases, one of which is teak, and the other is rosewood. The angle of seating can be adjusted and they can rotate on the bases.
The condition is excellent for their age, we have had them fully re-upholstered in a beautifully soft faux fur fabric, one in black and one in white to contrast with the shells. The wooden bases have been stripped and re-polished, there is just some extremely minor surface wear to the fibreglass shells here and there.

DECOLLAGE: Layers of advertising posters are glimpsed from beneath 19th Century French ephemera, film posters from ‘30s, ‘40s & ‘50s, graphite crayons & household paint.
Part of a series of work exploring decomposition, the passing of time – inspired by abandoned and timeworn billboards.
The artist’s artist, he takes inspiration from found objects, such as old letters, ephemera and frames, picked up on his travels and from trawling antiques fairs. He is intensely instinctive by nature and shows scant regard for creative constraints and any artistic rulebook, preferring the peripheries of the art world and the traditional marketplace, he started off selling his work on the street and has worked his way up from there. The son of the late actor, Kenneth Griffith, his aesthetic has one foot in the historical past, and the other in Outsider Art.
Artistry runs in the blood on both sides of his family. Down the maternal line, Griffith is a direct descendent of the showman William Hagar, a Pioneer of British cinema who ‘followed the coal’, bringing handmade films to audiences who had never before seen a moving image. As a nod to his silver screen heritage, Griffith sources vintage film posters for their early colors and Primitive images.

Antique Irish William IV Period Davenport in Rosewoodby InteriorBoutiques
A fantastic antique William IV period rosewood Davenport of the highest order. This was made in Ireland between 1830-1840, it has an impressed makers stamp that reads “WOODS, DUBLIN”.

There are dummy drawers on one side, the other side has a full bank of drawers, all of which have wonderful brass handles. Above the functioning drawers there is an additional very clever narrow pen holder drawer that opens halfway to a point where it can be locked and swivelled on a hinge. When unlocked, this provides additional secure storage.
The rosewood has a beautiful colour and stunning grain patterns throughout. It is finished nicely on all sides so can be used as a free standing item, the bun feet have concealed brass casters and this rolls smoothly.
We have had this sympathetically re-polished, the condition is fantastic for its age, with just the right amount of patina and wear.

Antique Victorian Mahogany Architects Deskby InteriorBoutiques
A beautiful and very unusual antique early Victorian architects desk in mahogany. This was made in England, and I would date it from the 1840-1860 period.
It appears as a regular pedestal desk with a gold tooled leather top, turned mahogany handles and bun feet. However, on the back, there are gate leg supports that swing out, and the top unfolds to reveal a larger inner work space. There is another inset leather top inside that can be angles upwards, and six small storage compartments with lids.
We have had this re-polished, it is in lovely condition for its age. The colour tone and patina of the mahogany are lovely. The outer leather top has some surface wear and light marks, with one tiny repair to the leather in the middle. We could have it re-leathered, but right now the leather matches the one inside.
