186-English Clockmaker’s Regulator
by Clock Props186-English Clockmaker's Regulator
A fine 19th Century Clockmaker's domestic regulator by Edward Blurton of Stourbridge near Birmingham. He is listed in Brian Loomes's “Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World”, volume 2, as working in the second half of the 19th Century. The clock mechanism unlike regular longcases or wall clock has a dead beat escapement and maintaining power for extreme accuracy needed by the clockmaker to regulate all the clocks he had in his workshop.
This would have been his own clock, in which he would have taken professional pride and as such these self-made clocks are scarce and sought after. The quality of the mahogany case is outstanding. The glass front and sides allow visibility of the brass weight, as it descends, and the swing of the pendulum with its extra large brass bob. Even the inside of the case uses choice veneers to match those on the outside. The condition of the clock is exceptional denoting that it has been well cared for over its lifetime of 150 years and it is original in all material effects.
Size: Length 1.50 m, width at widest point 50 cm, depth 25 cm
232-Small Art Deco Clock
by Clock Props232-Small Art Deco Clock
This is a clock that is not a hundred percent original, as it was bought only as an empty case lacking its movement and dial.
We have found an appropriate 1930's old dial that complements the pattern of the case and fitted it with a glass and chrome bezel and a quartz movement.
It is a charming clock and will attract attention.
164-English Fusee Wall Clock
by Clock Props164-English Fusee Wall Clock
A superb example of an early Victorian Rosewood and brass inlayed fusee wall clock. The octagonal shape was far less used than the much easier round casing found on these traditional English wall clocks. Note the off-centre winding hole on the convex dial, which indicates that it was from the earlier period of fusee wall clocks. The name “Alex Smart, South Orderly Street, London” is no doubt the mark of the original owner or clockmaker.
The clock is original in all material respects and has been fully restored to a very high standard, so that the eight day mechanical movement is fully guaranteed.
Size: 43 cm diameter, 15 cm deep
160-Antique Clock Hands

These old clock hands are probably French. They are from the 19th Century and make an interesting wall feature now that we have mounted them on a circular wooden plaque acting as a hanger. Hands that were really 'handmade'.
They are purely for decoration.

An elegant mid 19th Century French Tole (metal cased) wall clock with its original loop handle to which a ribbon with a bow at the top was often attached to give it a more dramatic appearance. The eight day movement attached to an almost perfect Enamel dial is of very high quality French manufacture.
These clocks were only to be found in elegant homes and apartments.Size: 36 cm diameter, 50 cm high (including handle), 10 cm deep
