285-French Advertising Clock
An iconic advertising clock promoting hot chocolate by the firm Revillon.
This drink was as popular as coffee is today in the bars and bistros of France in the 1930's.
They were given to the bar owners to promote their brand.
We have adapted the distinctive hands to fit a modern quartz movement because the old mechanical movements they used to have are now defunct.
59 cm tall x 45 cm wide x 8 cm deep
295-Large Enamel Turret Clock
You rarely get enamel clock dials of this size in such good condition with their original hands.
They would have been outside for many years somewhere on the top of a building, exposed to all weathers.
It is particularly nice to have the name and place in the south of France where this clock would have been.
The enamel dial is in perfect condition and would look equally good in a traditional or modern setting.
98cm wide x 12cm deep
4 Historic & Working 'Grandfather' Clock Dials from England
Four very handsome and traditional hand-painted iron 'Grandfather' Clock Dials from early 19th century Britain, each now fitted with a modern battery quartz movement. For sale either as a group or separately , each clock face can be individually hung so that it functions as a battery driven working clock. The top paintings show variously a rustic farmyard with people and animals, a boy with his dog, a kitchen scene and an aristocrat with a horse plough and background castle. The clock faces have each had a small amount of restoration by an artist.
Each clock face measures 18 inches high x 13 wide and is dated circa 1790-1850.
