by Huw GriffithCOLLAGE: 19th Century French papers, remnants of Spanish film posters from ‘30s, ‘40s & ‘50s, graphite crayons and household paint.
The collage has been placed into an antique frame which has been reworked by Huw and is part of the overall artwork.
The artist takes inspiration from found objects, such as old letters, ephemera and frames, picked up on his travels and from trawling antiques fairs. He is intensely instinctive by nature and shows scant regard for creative constraints and any artistic rulebook, preferring the peripheries of the art world and the traditional marketplace, he started off selling his work on the street and has worked his way up from there. The son of the late actor, Kenneth Griffith, his aesthetic has one foot in the historical past, and the other in Outsider Art.
Artistry runs in the blood on both sides of his family. Down the maternal line, Griffith is a direct descendent of the showman William Hagar, a Pioneer of British cinema who ‘followed the coal’, bringing handmade films to audiences who had never before seen a moving image. As a nod to his silver screen heritage, Griffith sources vintage film posters for their early colors and Primitive images.Size

by InteriorBoutiquesA very stylish and unusual vintage brass and rattan desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1970’s.
It is very well made and has a lovely design, with the rattan clad top attached to a brass base. There are two drawers and in the centre there is a recess covered by a very thick smoked glass top. This is nicely finished on the back as well, so can be used as a free standing item.
This is in excellent condition for its age, with only some extremely minor wear here and there. The top can unscrew and detach from the base for ease of transport.

by InteriorBoutiquesAn absolutely magnificent antique Irish Georgian period walnut and leather armchair. This was made in Ireland, we would date it to around the 1750-1780 period.
This is the finest example you could hope to see, widely copied and rarely seen in its original form.
The solid walnut frame is exquisitely carved with eagle head motifs on the arm rests and also on the knees. The knees also have acanthus leaf carving, the cabriole shaped legs terminate in claw and ball feet.
This has a gorgeous, sweeping shape to the frame and it is very comfortable.
We have had the frame re-polished to a very high standard, and we have had it re-upholstered in hand coloured leather. The original horse hair stuffing remains inside the upholstery.
The condition is excellent, this is a museum quality piece.
