out of stockSwedish Art Deco Burr Walnut Desk
by InteriorBoutiquesA magnificent Swedish Art Deco burr walnut desk, recently imported from Sweden and dating from the 1930’s.
This is of superb quality, it has a striking and quite unusual design. It is designed asymmetrically, with a tall cabinet on the left and a shorter cabinet on the right. The top of the shorter cabinet extends across the back and this serves as a useful shelf. There are three drawers in the top, which has an inset leather writing surface. This has a nicely polished back, and it looks just as impressive from the back as from the front. The edges are beautifully moulded and curved all over, especially on the supporting side and upper corners.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standards, the top has been re-leathered. This is in excellent condition for its age, and has amazing burr walnut grain patterns throughout.

The inspiration taken from early Ariel photographs and plans.By Artist Huw Griffith
COLLAGE: Antique papers, remnants of early 20th Century European stone lithograph film posters, graphite crayons and household paint.
The collage has been placed into an antique frame which has been reworked by Huw and is part of the overall artworkThe artist takes inspiration from found objects, such as old letters, ephemera and frames, picked up on his travels and from trawling antiques fairs. He is intensely instinctive by nature and shows scant regard for creative constraints and any artistic rulebook, preferring the peripheries of the art world and the traditional marketplace, he started off selling his work on the street and has worked his way up from there. The son of the late actor, Kenneth Griffith, his aesthetic has one foot in the historical past, and the other in Outsider Art.
Artistry runs in the blood on both sides of his family. Down the maternal line, Griffith is a direct descendent of the showman William Hagar, a Pioneer of British cinema who ‘followed the coal’, bringing handmade films to audiences who had never before seen a moving image. As a nod to his silver screen heritage, Griffith sources vintage film posters for their early colors and Primitive images.

by InteriorBoutiquesA stylish and very well made vintage French brass and marble coffee / side table. This was made in France, it dates from around the 1970’s.
The quality is fantastic, the solid brass frame is very well made with fluted legs and a wishbone stretcher for extra stability. There is a lovely rosette in the middle of the stretcher, there is beading around the top edge under the marble. This is a useful size, the gorgeous rouge marble top compliments the brass frame beautifully.
The brass has acquired a gorgeous patina over the years, marble top is in very good condition, with just a couple of extremely shallow chips to the lower outer edges, barely perceptible.
